Programme
Dear friends of the guitar,

it is hard to believe but another year has gone by and it is for the 18th time that I have the pleasure and the honour to invite you to our International Guitar Festival. Unfortunately, this year, we do not have the money for a professionally printed brochure but I hope that the present document will nonetheless comprehensively inform you and make you curious about our festival.

This year's topic is "Mountains". It plays a major role in the pieces we selected for the competition and the children will deal with it in their improvisations. Of course, we will also go into the topic in our opening concert as well as in the special programme of BAJA which is entitled "Mountains, Dwarfs and Trolls".
As during the last years, we will have pupils' contests in four categories (First registrations arrived only shortly after the announcement of the contest.). Again, we have invited excellent international soloists and jury members which guarantees a high level in the assessment of the pupils' performance and in the quality of the concerts, master classes and workshops. I am convinced that also this year we will enjoy an interesting and excellent festival which will be worth both seeing and listening.
The organizational concept and realization will contribute to this.
The concerts will take place in the Historic Town Hall of Templin, in the Kurt-Mühlenhaupt-Museum in Bergsdorf, in the "Kirchlein im Grünen" in Alt Placht and in the church of Liebenberg Castle and Manor.
I would like to wish you some wonderful hours and the pupils good luck.

Yours Barbara Richter-Rumstig (Art Director)

3 p.m. solo concert of Uwe Kropinski

It is very difficult to describe Uwe Kropinski with non-superlative words. Fans and critics are at his feet. "The man is a guitar" could recently be read in a newspaper. But even this does not do justice to him. One should rather say "The man is music" since he does not only play his instrument with amazing accuracy and on the highest level. Also his improvisations are exciting and very intelligent. When listening to Mr. Kropinski one gets an idea of the dimensions music can have.

4 p.m. solo concert of Isabel Siewers

Isabel Siewers, who was born in Argentina, is one of the few women who have been able to make a great international career as a musician. She is giving concerts all over the world. Since she plays contemporary music in particular, a huge number of composers are writing pieces especially for her. Her programmes consist of a well balanced mixture of European and South American music.
